Privacy Policy
How ArkSearch handles ordinary website access, external research links, and information voluntarily submitted through connected Association for Biblical Science & Archaeology channels.
ArkSearch is a research initiative associated with the Association for Biblical Science & Archaeology (ABSA). Ordinary reading does not require a visitor account. Information is collected only when a visitor chooses to submit material through the Contact & Contribute form or when technical systems process data needed to operate and protect the site.
Information Processed During a Visit
As with most websites, the hosting, security, caching, and delivery systems supporting ArkSearch may process technical information needed to serve and protect the site. This can include an IP address, browser or device information, requested URLs, timestamps, and security or error-log information. Retention of these technical records varies according to operational and security needs and the services used to host and protect the site.
Cookies and Logged-In Users
Public reading of ArkSearch does not require an account. WordPress and its supporting services may use cookies for administrators or other authenticated users, and security or performance systems may use technical storage necessary to operate the site. If ArkSearch adds public analytics, advertising, account features, or other optional tracking, this policy will be updated to describe those systems.
External Sources and Embedded Content
ArkSearch links extensively to archives, universities, journals, museums, research organizations, media repositories, and other third-party websites. Following an external link—or interacting with third-party embedded content—may allow that service to process information under its own privacy policy. ArkSearch does not control those external services.
Contact and Research Submissions
The ArkSearch Contact & Contribute form collects the name, email address, category, subject, and message voluntarily provided by the sender. Submissions are delivered by email to the site’s configured administrator address so ArkSearch can review corrections, sources, image information, expedition records, research leads, and questions. The form does not create a public user account.
Media and Public Research Material
Images, documents, source links, and other research material presented publicly on ArkSearch may be viewed or downloaded by visitors according to the rights and licenses associated with each item. Image provenance and attribution information is maintained on the Image Credits & Attributions page.
Your Questions or Requests
For questions about information submitted through the project, requests concerning personal information, or privacy corrections, use Contact & Contribute and identify the request as relating to ArkSearch privacy.
This policy is reviewed when ArkSearch adds or materially changes forms, analytics, account features, advertising, or other data-processing services.
